Sustainable tourism

General specifications of our tours

The Ecological Foundation Tiuti Wally organizes tours in the Mawka Llakta sector of the Sarayaku community which lies in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon region, a tropical rainforest with marvellous attractions in flora and fauna, cascades and rivers.

Our tours are organized as sustainable tourism tours and eco adventure for people who take an interest in the biodiversity of the Ecuadorian Amazon region and would like to get to know the Indians’ cultures (Kichua and/or Shuar).

As the jungle is not predictable the guide might modify the program according to the circumstances and your ideas. We are also able and very interested in tailoring a program according to our guests’ wishes. Don’t hesitate to give us a note!

What you need in the jungle

Towel, swimsuit, trunks, wash bag
Torch, batteries
Camera, binoculars
Gnat/ insect repellent, sunscreen
Shoes and/or sandals

Recommendation

It would be fantastic if you could bring biodegradable soap and shampoo in order to not contaminate the water of the rivers (It is very difficult to find these things in Ecuador).

Lodging in the jungle

In the jungle we sleep in tents or in native houses. At this moment there are no showers, but it will be the plan for the future. We wash ourselves in the rivers. In all of the 3 tours there is no electricity. Think about this by charging your batteries for your digital camera!

There is no malaria in Sarayaku.

Part of what you pay for the tours will go to the Ecological Foundation Tiuti Wally.
